Comments on Standards of Corrosion Resistant Gate Valves for Flanges and Butt Welding Connections

A few days ago, the standard of "Flange and Butt Welding Corrosion Resistant Gate Valve" (Draft for Comments) drafted by Hefei Institute of General Machinery, etc. was open for comment.

The Standard of Corrosion Resistant Gate Valves for Flanges and Butt Welding Connections stipulates the structural type, technical requirements, materials, test methods, inspection rules, marks, packaging and storage and transportation of full-diameter corrosion resistant gate valves for process pipeline applications.

The standard is applicable to gate valves with nominal pressure PN16-PN100 and nominal size DN15-DN600, featuring bolted connection bonnet, external thread support, lifting stem, non-lifting handwheel, tine or parallel type, single gate or double gate, seat with metal surface, flange or butt welding connection.

The standard explains the pressure-temperature rating. The temperature-pressure rating of this standard valve is consistent with the temperature-pressure rating of the corresponding material specified in GB/T12224 under the standard pressure level.

The standard gives a detailed description of the valve manufacturing design, including the manufacturing requirements of cover thickness, body size, cover size, connection mode between cover and body, gate, bracket, stem and stem nut, packing and stuffing box, stud, bolt connection, bypass and other auxiliary joints, materials, internals, etc.

The standard also gives a brief description of post-test inspection, supply packaging, etc.
